Go Up to Installing and Licensing DBArtisan

Beginning with version 16.5 (2016+), the installers for DBArtisan and Rapid SQL are combined and by default, both products are installed.

Note: If you download the installation kit AFTER November 8, 2016, please use the following steps. If you downloaded the kit ON OR BEFORE November 8, 2016, use the steps in Using the pre-Nov. 8 installation kit or remove the previously-downloaded installation kit and download the new kit.

Using the Nov. 8 and later installation kit

To successfully install DBArtisan and Rapid SQL, simply verify that the check box for each product is checked in the installation wizard, check the box agreeing to the license terms and conditions, and then click Install. Note that the Install button is not available until you select at least one product and also check the box agreeing to the license terms.

If you want to change the default installation location or program icon availability, click the Options button. The Setup Options screen allows you to select a different installation location and whether the product icon appears on the desktop. Click Cancel to disregard any of the selections or click OK to save the selections and return to the screen you were on when you clicked the Options button. Click Install to install the product using the selections you made in the Setup Options screen.

To finish installation, you must complete each panel of the installation wizard. 64-bit and 32-bit versions of the product are available with the trial version, which can be downloaded from https://www.idera.com/dbartisan-database-administration-solution/freetrialsubscriptionform.

The installation wizard installs all corresponding files on your machine. The installer offers common options such as license agreement, file and folder selections, and shortcut options. An application-specific option lets you associate file suffixes of elements such as SQL scripts with DBArtisan.

The panels presented by the wizard vary depending on whether you are upgrading or performing an initial installation.

Caution: If you have not registered a license when you start installation, you will be prompted to register a license. For more information, see Licensing Your Product.

After the installation is complete, we recommend that you reboot your machine.

Unless you only want to install one of the products or change the installation path, you do not have to view the installation options to proceed with the install. Instead, to successfully install DBArtisan and Rapid SQL, simply check the box agreeing to the license terms and conditions, and then click Install.
