Using Conceptual Modeling Notations

Conceptual modeling is used by enterprise architects, business users, and data architects to model high-level business concepts and subject areas. A common usage of a Conceptual Model is to relate this model to a Logical Data Model. However, it could include other elements like data flow, process, or information assets in addition to more abstract interactions between business ‘things’, for example, areas of a business and their associations.
The example below shows a basic, high-level conceptual diagram. The main subject area is “US Consumer Banking” and is made up of three other subject areas: “Lending”, “Online Banking”, and “Securities”.
You can add additional information for each subject area for this high-level diagram. For example, you could expand the “Lending” subject area to view the Business Entities and their attributes.
