The following terms are being used to define the VAR program.

Call Back License

Requires a connection to Embarcadero's licensing server to register, but this does not stop InterBase from starting if it is not immediately available.

Channel Partners

A channel partner is a company that partners with a manufacturer or producer to market and sell the manufacturer's products, services, or technologies. This is usually done through a co-branding relationship. Channel partners may be distributors, vendors, retailers, consultants, systems integrators (SI), technology deployment consultancies, value-added resellers (VARs,) and other such organizations.


InterBase VAR Profile

Information on the VAR including contact details and secondary details of their VAR account. This read-only information is accessed via EDN.

OEM and ISV

An OEM is a company that sells equipment with software embedded.
An ISV is a company that sells their software that is used with another company’s hardware.

Reseller Partner

A third-party company that sells InterBase and other Embarcadero tools as standalone products.

SDK Pack

The SDK pack is a single SKU that has a number of items linked to it so when an item is sold it is added to the customer's EDN account. With the sale of the SDK, an email is sent to the customer with the serial keys for the product editions. The customer then enters the serial keys online to generate their slip file.

Technical Partners

Embarcadero Technology Partners are individuals, teams, and organizations that develop and sell tools, components, and libraries that add value to the Embarcadero family of developer products. Learn more and find a partner.

VAR

Value Added Retailer: A full VAR has made a large upfront financial commitment to InterBase and has access to gold key slip files. This requires the higher level of security and financial endorsement that currently exists with Embarcadero's VAR program.
