Go Up to Tools Options Index

This group includes the Conditional Defines, Directories, Include path, and other dialog boxes. These dialog boxes can have different purposes, but they all provide tools to manage ordered lists of items (for example, an ordered list of directories or user-defined conditional symbols). Therefore, each of these dialog boxes has the pane containing a list of items.

You can invoke these dialog boxes from different Options or Project Options dialog boxes, which you can open with the Tools > Options or Project > Options menu commands, by clicking the Ellipsis button next to a control containing an ordered list of items.

Note: Not all of the options described below are available in each of these dialogs.

Inherit values from "parent configuration(s)"

On Project Options dialog boxes. Check this box if you want that items for the list in the ordered list pane to be inherited from the parent build configurations or from items listed in the display / working_field pane.

<display / working_field>
in lower pane

The lower pane, when present, is either a display or a working area where you can construct items to move into the upper ordered list pane. For Project Options dialogs, this box lists the items that are controlled by the Inherit values from "parent configuration(s)" check box. When items listed here are grayed, you cannot enter items in this pane or select individual items.
