BDE Aliases Migration (FireDAC)

Go Up to Migrating BDE Applications to FireDAC

Both FireDAC Explorer and FireDAC Administrator have the BDE aliases migration function. Run one of these two applications and choose Connection -> Import BDE Aliases:

This dialog shows all your BDE aliases. Select the ones you want to migrate to FireDAC. Click Overwrite existing connection definitions..., if you want to overwrite existing FireDAC connection definitions by the same named BDE aliases. In case you do not want to overwrite the existing connection definitions, you will get duplicates with names like "DBDEMOS_1". After pressing OK, FireDAC imports all the BDE DB aliases supported by FireDAC.

FireDAC imports a new connection definition for every selected BDE alias. These definitions are placed into the connection definition file.
