Components Available Only on Specific Windows OS

Go Up to Developing Applications with VCL Components

Some VCL components are specific to an operating system (such as Vista) and thus will not work on other operating systems. For example, the design time components TFileOpenDialog and TFileSaveDialog are specific to Vista. Some components are designed to work with themes either enabled or disabled. (To enable or disable themes, check or uncheck the Enable runtime themes box on the Project > Options > Application dialog box.)

In the following table, note that Windows Server 2003 is treated as Windows XP, and Windows Server 2008 is treated as Vista.
