Jump to: navigation, search

Go Up to How To Use the IDE

You can use the IDE Insight incremental search box to find items of all types (such as menu commands, project options, components, and so forth).

To perform an IDE Insight search

  1. Choose Search > IDE Insight or press either F6 or Ctrl+. (period).
  2. Locate an item by doing either of the following:
    • Start typing the name of the item into the text box (FastActionSearchArrow.jpg). You only need to type as much of the name as required for the box to display a match for the item you seek.
    • Double-click an available category, scroll through the contents of the category, and select an item you want.
  3. Double-click the item to invoke or open the item, whether it is a command, a dialog box, a disk file, or any number of other potential items in the IDE.

To specify the IDE Insight categories

  1. On the IDE Insight box, click the down-arrow associated with the magnifying glass (FastActionSearchArrow.jpg). The list of categories opens.
  2. In the list of categories:
    • Check the categories you want to search.
    • Clear the checkboxes for categories you want to exclude.
