Target Platforms
RAD Studio supports the following target platforms and associated frameworks:
- 32-bit Windows - hosts FireMonkey and VCL development (Delphi and C++Builder)
- 64-bit Windows - hosts FireMonkey and VCL development (Delphi and C++Builder)
- OSX32 - (Mac) hosts FireMonkey development (Delphi and C++Builder)
- Mobile - hosts FireMonkey development (Delphi):
- iOS Device (for a specific iOS device connected to your Mac)
- Debug (for development cycles)
- Ad-hoc (for private in-house distribution; see https://developer.apple.com/programs/ios/enterprise/ for more information)
- App Store (for the final build before submitting your app to the App Store)
- iOS Simulator (for the iOS Simulator that runs on your Mac)
- iPad (for the iPad form factor in the iOS Simulator)
- iPhone (a generic iPhone; the default target platform for FireMonkey mobile applications)
- iPhone 5 (for the iPhone 5 form factor in the iOS Simulator)
- iOS Device (for a specific iOS device connected to your Mac)
You specify the target platform for your cross-platform application by selecting one of these platforms in the Target Platforms node of the Project Manager.
Other Cross-Platform Development
DataSnap supports native-language development for mobile devices using special DataSnap connectors that we provide for the following platforms:
- iOS devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad):
- Windows 7 Phone using the C# Silverlight DataSnap proxy
- Android using the Java Android DataSnap proxy
- Blackberry using the Java BlackBerry DataSnap proxy
