Improvements

Security and Encryption

InterBase 15 introduces the following changes on security and encryption:

  • Support for OpenSSL 3.x, for information on OpenSSL refer to https://openssl.org
  • Enable FIPS mode for FIPS-140-3 compliance. This feature is only available on InterBase Server Editions on Windows and Linux. For further detail, see Running_the_server_in_FIPS_mode
  • Support for DES has been removed.
  • AES encryption now uses a strength of 256 bits by default.
  • Addition of stronger SHA-256 Password Digest algorithm for user accounts

IBConsole

  • Added System/Database dynamic dashboard
  • Performance improvements

Other

  • Visual Studio 2022 runtime
  • Installer upgrades for OS platforms
