Improvements
Security and Encryption
InterBase 15 introduces the following changes on security and encryption:
- Support for OpenSSL 3.x, for information on OpenSSL refer to https://openssl.org
- Enable FIPS mode for FIPS-140-3 compliance. This feature is only available on InterBase Server Editions on Windows and Linux. For further detail, see [this https://docwiki.embarcadero.com/InterBase/15/en/Running_the_server_in_FIPS_mode]
- Support for DES has been removed.
- AES encryption now uses a strength of 256 bits by default.
- Addition of stronger SHA-256 Password Digest algorithm for user accounts
