The Diagram View

The Diagram View, located to the right of the Model View tree, is where you can place the graphical representations of the Business Process Modeling Notational elements, Conceptual elements, Reference Object elements, External Data Object elements, as well as elements from the Drawing Shapes palette. Each time you place an element in this area, it also appears in the Model View tree.
Displaying the Diagram View
The Diagram View is not displayed when you first open a workspace in the application. The diagram node appears in the Model View tree, but the actual Diagram View is closed. To display this area, do the following:
- 1 In the Model View tree, right-click the diagram name node.
- 2 Select Open and the Diagram View opens, including the Business Process or Conceptual Objects, Reference Objects, External Data Objects, and Drawing Shapes palettes.
Modifying the Diagram View
You can modify, position, and size the Model View. When you right-click the Model View tab, a shortcut menu opens displaying the following commands:
Using the Diagram View
Once you have created a diagram in the Model View tree, you can design models using the notation elements available on the palette.
- 1 On the palette click the element you want to place in the Diagram View.
- 2 Click in the area to place an element. Each element placed in the Diagram View also appears on the Model View tree.
