Using Grid

Go Up to Customizing Diagram Appearance and Viewing Diagrams

In the Diagram View, you can optionally display or hide the grid on the diagram background and enforce diagram elements snap to the nearest grid coordinate when you place or move them. The grid is configured in the Diagram Appearance options page of the Options dialog box.

To show the grid

1. Click Tools > Options to open the Options dialog box.
2. In the options tree in the left pane, choose the Modeling > (level) > Diagram > Appearance node.
3. In the Grid group, select True in Show grid to show the grid.
4. In the Grid group, select True in Snap to grid to enable snapping of diagram elements to the nearest intersection of the grid guidelines.
5. Adjust other Grid options.

Note: Grid display and snapping are enabled by default.
