Using the Pattern Registry

The Pattern Registry stores the set of patterns. To view patterns stored in the Pattern Registry use the Pattern Registry viewer. In the Pattern Registry viewer you can filter patterns by category, metaclass, diagram type, language or status of registration and view pattern properties.

To open the Pattern Registry viewer

  1. Click Tools > Pattern Organizer to open the Pattern Organizer.
  2. The Pattern Registry dialog box can be opened from the Pattern Organizer context menus. To open the Pattern Registry viewer do one of the following:
    • In the Pattern Organizer, right-click a folder and choose New Shortcut on the context menu.
    • In the Pattern Organizer, right-click a pattern shortcut and choose Assign Pattern on the context menu.

To filter patterns in the Pattern Registry viewer

  1. Open the Pattern Registry viewer.
  2. In the Pattern Registry viewer, in the Filters section click the attribute to filter the patterns.
  3. On the attribute field, click the down arrow to open the list and select the desired value for the attribute. Filtering implements immediately.
