Working with User Properties

Go Up to Editing Diagrams

User properties are created in the Add/Remove User Properties dialog box.

Once created, the user properties can be viewed and edited in the Object Inspector or in the Add/Remove User Properties dialog box.

To create a user property

  1. In the Diagram View or Model View, right-click the desired diagram or diagram element.
  2. On the appeared context menu, choose User Properties. The Add/Remove User Properties dialog box opens.
  3. In this dialog box, click the Add button. A new User Property entry, containing the Name and Value items, is added to the properties list in the main pane of the dialog box.
  4. Edit the Name and Value items. By default, Name receives the property1, property2, ... successive values. These names of all existing User Property entries you will see in the Object Inspector as names of user properties.
  5. Using the Add and Remove buttons, make up the list of user properties.
  6. Click OK when ready.
