Switch Logfile
Go Up to Available object actions by DBMS
The Switch Logfile action issues an ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE statement. This forces a log switch to make the currently active group inactive and available for maintenance activities.
Platform Availability
To Force a Log Switch
- Select or expand the Storage node and select the Redo Log Groups node
- Right-click one or more selected objects and select Switch Logfile from the context menu.
- The Preview: Switch Logfile dialog opens.
- Click Execute.
