When you create a link, you create a generic relationship between elements that can indicate impact, association, etc. A Link is a generic, user-defined relationship that is used to simply relate objects together. However, a link is not associated with a formal modeling notation; thus you are free to use it to connect any objects within ER/Studio Business Architect.

A common usage would be to show and relate stewardship with a given task or table. Once you have created these links, you can view an Impact Analysis report showing the interrelationships.
