Reordering Lanes in Pools

You can reorder the lanes in a pool either in the diagram or in the Model View tree.

Note: You can only reorder lanes within its own pool. You cannot move lanes from one pool to another.

Reordering Lanes in a Diagram

There are two different ways to order lanes in the diagram: (1) dragging the lane to a new position within the pool; or (2) using the Move Lane dialog.

Using the Drag Method

1 Click the lane or lanes you want to move. The selected lane now has selection handles.

Note: Select multiple lanes by pressing Ctrl and then clicking the lanes you want to move.

2 While holding down the mouse button, drag the lane its new position. Notice that the order of the lanes in the Model View tree reflect the change you just made in the diagram.

When you are reordering the lanes in a pool an indicator appears. This thick line indicates where the lane will be dropped (above or below selected lane). In the following example the new lane is placed above the lane labeled THREE.

Using the Move Lane Dialog

1 In the diagram select the lane or lanes you want to reorder.

Note: Select multiple lanes by pressing Ctrl and clicking the lanes.

2 Right-click the selected lane(s) and click Move Lane on the shortcut menu. The Move Lane dialog appears.

3 From the list of lanes, select the lane you want to move the lane before and click OK.

Reordering Lanes in the Model View Tree

There are two different ways to order lanes in the Model View tree: (1) dragging the lane to a new position within the tree; or (2) using the Move Lane dialog.

Using the Drag method:

1 Select the lane or lanes you want to reorder.

Note: Select multiple lanes by pressing Ctrl and then clicking the lanes you want to move.

2 Drag the lane or lanes to its new position in the tree. A horizontal indicator displays where the moved lane will be inserted. In the example below, lane ONE is moved to just below lane THREE.

Using the Move Lane Dialog

1 In the Model View tree select the lane or lanes you want to reorder.

Note: Select multiple lanes by pressing Ctrl and clicking the lanes.

2 Right-click the selected lane(s) and click Move Lane on the shortcut menu. The Move Lane dialog opens.

3 From the list of lanes, select the lane you want to move the lane before and click OK.
