Session 11: Create Links and Usages
Go Up to Main Page
When you create a relationship, you create a generic connections between elements that can indicate impact, usage, association, etc. These relationships are not associated with a formal modeling notation—thus you are free to use it to connect any objects within EA/Studio. For example, a common usage is to show the relationships between data and process for Usage (CRUD) Reporting.
Another common usage would be to show and relate stewardship with a given task or table. Once you have created these relationships, you can generate Impact Analysis or CRUD reports to show the interrelationships.
EA/Studio uses two different types of user-defined relationships between objects (1..n):
Link |
A more generic association type that is used to simply relate objects together. |
Usage |
Denotes a usage association, with attributes to represent whether the usage is Create, Read, Update, and/or Delete. This is used for Usage (CRUD) reporting. |
