Talk:VCL
"Introductory Topics" too advanced
I think the topics
- Using TEncoding for Unicode Files
- Components Available Only on Specific OS
are too advanced to be listed under "Introductory Topics". These topics are not something you'd want to read if you were being introduced to VCL application development.
REPLY: Yes, you're right. I'm thinking about where to move these two topics -- probably into the Delphi Reference section, but I don't know exactly where yet. Thank you for pointing out this problem. - Kris Houser
VCL is a framework
I propose that the following sentence:
The Visual Component Library (VCL) is a set of visual components for the rapid development of Windows applications in the Delphi language.
be changed to:
The Visual Component Library (VCL) is a generic framework for rapid development of Windows applications in the Delphi language.
REPLY: Can you explain why this change should be made? -- Kris H.
