Is the J# Runtime Required by C# Builder?

Synopsis:

During the install, it prompts me whether I want to install the J# redistributable for .NET. Choosing not to install J# redistributable results in an error:

Borland C#Builder requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1, Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1, Microsoft Visual J# .NET v1.1 Redistributable and Microsoft .NET Framework SDK v1.1 to be installed on the machine. Please install the pre-requisites and try again!

Resolution:

J# is not required by C# Builder, so this is an issue with the installer. J# is required by the Janeva technology and therefore if one is not using Janeva then they won't need J# installed.

For now, if you aren't using Janeva and don't want to install J#, don't install Janeva, and then manually uninstall J#. You can uninstall J# from the Add/Remove Programs list.
