Manual uninstall of Rad Studio/Delphi/C++Builder XE2

RAD Studio XE2 Manual Uninstall

Under your Control Panel's Program and Features Add/Remove Program uninstall the following entries:

  • Embarcadero Delphi and C++Builder XE2 Help System
  • Boost Libraries for C++Builder XE2
  • Embarcadero Rad Studio XE2

Please follow these instructions to remove any leftover files:

  1. Remove the %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Rad_Studio_XE2_Downloads folder
  2. Remove the %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Rad_Studio_XE2_Help_Downloads folder
  3. Remove the C:\Program Files\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\9.0 directory
  4. Remove the C:\Users\Public\Documents\RAD Studio\9.0 directory
  5. Remove the C:\ProgramData\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\9.0 directory
  6. Remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Embarcadero\BDS\9.0 registry key
  7. Remove the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Embarcadero\BDS\9.0 registry key
  8. Remove the following folders (if they exist) with a GUID name in C:\ProgramData\
    1. {EDA307AA-B5A4-4524-B840-2914497A9C3C} (help 1)
    2. {B95E9F66-C84C-4690-B1BC-2AA8CD2C56FE} (help 2)
    3. {35EE5E86-AC52-4478-8471-0F555B0FB415} (boost 1)
    4. {B0A6C550-7640-4BB9-A44C-C9A7B5257584} (boost 2)
    5. {05500BA0-5731-46FD-9326-FA79A36E6D46} (main installer)
  9. Remove the following files from Windows\System32:
    1. BDEAdmin.*
    2. CC32*.DLL
    3. Midas.*
    4. Xerces*.DLL


Field testers should also do the following (and others may want to as well):

  • Delete sample files from %PUBLIC%\Public Documents\RAD Studio\9.0
  • Delete DBExpress connection files from %PUBLIC%\Public Documents\RAD Studio\dbExpress\9.0


On 64-bit machines:

  • Program Files = C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\9.0
  • Registry keys = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Embarcadero\BDS\9.0
  • Windows\System32 = C:\Windows\SysWOW64
