Manage Permissions for Individual Resources

Go Up to Access Control Permissions

Super User or Stewards of an individual element can assign permissions to other users and groups of users in Team Server and limit the actions that they can perform over individual resources. For this purpose use the Permissions link that the specific element has on its description page. You can provide specific permissions to the following resources: glossaries, diagrams, models and submodels, data sources, and login credentials. In the description web page click on Permissions. Now the page is divided in two tabs, which are described below.

  • The Users Tab displays a list of users to which you can assign permissions.
  • The Groups Tab displays the list of groups to which you can assign permissions.

To manage Access Control permissions for users and groups:

  1. Select the proper tab.
  2. In the list, click Edit on the right side of a user or group you want to define permissions for.
  3. On the Edit Permissions dialog box that opens, you will see the following options to check:

Item Description

List/View

Check this option to allow only read permissions.

Update/Delete

Check this option to allow editing and deleting that resource.

Stewards

Check this option to allow user to manage the Stewards of that resource.

  1. Click the Save button to save your settings.


Notes:

  • The permission granted for a specific diagram is also applied hierarchically to all the included models and submodels.
  • The permission granted for a specific glossary is also applied hierarchically to all the children glossaries (and other descendants) and to all the related terms.
  • The permission granted for a specific data source group is also applied hierarchically to all the children groups (and other descendants).
