There are a few changes you can make to your underlying system to get the most out of your Team Server installation by granting more system resources.
To gain more system resources
- Increase the physical memory on the Operating System to be 5GB of RAM.
- Increase the Maximum Memory Pool for the Java Virtual Machine. You can increase the connect service available memory to the maximum size by following the steps available in Changing the Memory Limit of Team Server.
Note: On systems running faster SSD drives, increasing Virtual Memory settings also increase benefits.
Recommended Virtual Memory settings
- Set the initial size to 1.5x that of the system RAM.
- Set the max size to 2x that of the initial virtual memory size.
