Relating models to ER/Studio TS Data Sources

Go Up to Working with Objects in the Repository

If you are connected to ER/Studio TS and the current model's parent diagram is in the Repository, a model can be related to a ER/Studio TS data source. This lets you see and document the scope or impact of a particular change.

To relate a model to a ER/Studio TS data source

  1. Right-click a model and select Data Source Mappings. The Model Data Sources dialog opens.
  2. Select an item from the left-hand list of available data sources and then click the >>>> button to relate the data source to the current model. A Choose owner and database dialog opens.
  3. Select a Database Type and Datasource, provide a User Name and Password, and click Connect to connect to the target data source.
  4. For each of the Catalog and Owner controls, click the associated browse button to open a dialog that lets you select catalogs and owners and click OK when ready.
  5. Click OK.
