Key Mappings
After working with a given IDE for a long time, you often get used to certain keyboard shortcuts that let you work faster. Having to stop using those shortcuts and learn brand new shortcuts is one of the most painful things to face when migrating to a different IDE.
HTML5 Builder eases you the process by letting you completely customize your keyboard layout, so the Code Editor does what you expect it to do, and not the other way around.
Choose a Key Mapping
You can choose the key mapping you want to use from Home > Options > Editor Options, at the bottom (Editor SpeedSetting).
Create a Custom Key Mapping
From Home > Options > Editor Options > Key Mappings you can customize the existing key mappings and create your own. The following default mappings are available:
- Default key mapping.
- Classic key mapping.
- BRIEF™ emulation, based on BRIEF’s key mapping.
- Visual Basic™ emulation, based on Visual Basic’s key mapping.
- Visual Studio™ emulation, based on Visual Studio’s key mapping.
