The table below describes the preferences available for the Workspaces/Models node.

Workspace Options | |

Default workspace directory |
Click the Browse button to open the Browse For Folder dialog. You can change the existing default directory or create a new folder to be the default directory. |

Entries in recently used workspace list |
Set the number of previous workspaces you want to appear in the File > History menu. The default setting is 4. |

Prompt for workspace when starting application |
If this option is selected, the Welcome dialog opens when you first start the application. It allows you to create a new workspace, open the last used workspace, import a compressed-format workspace, or open an existing workspace. If it is not selected, ER/Studio Business Architect opens to the last used workspace. |

Default Model Type |
When you create a model, the default model type can be set to Business Process or Conceptual so the preferred type always appears in the Model Type list box. |
