Writing an InterBase Install

From InterBase

Go Up to Using the Install and Licensing APIs

The steps you use depend on whether you are writing a silent install or an interactive install. Some steps are merely recommended rather than required, such as Calling isc_clear_options() before proceeding with the rest of the install. Others vary depending on whether you are also performing tasks such as writing an uninstall program, creating icons, adding authorization codes, and starting the server.

Important: There must be only one InterBase server per machine. It is particularly important to avoid putting a SuperServer version of InterBase (V 4.2 and later on Windows platforms) on a machine where a Classic server is still installed.
