Property Declarations
Go Up to Defining Properties
A property is declared in the declaration of its component class. To declare a property, you specify three things:
- The name of the property.
- The type of the property.
- The methods used to read and write the value of the property. If no write method is declared, the property is read-only.
Properties declared in a published section of the component's class declaration are editable in the Object Inspector at design time. The value of a published property is saved with the component in the form file. Properties declared in a public section are available at run time and can be read or set in program code.
