Modifying Connections in the Data Explorer

You can modify connections in a variety of ways from the Data Explorer.
To modify connections
- Choose View > Data Explorer.
- Select a provider.
- Right-click to display a pop-up menu to view your options.
To refresh a connection
- Choose View > Data Explorer.
- Select a provider.
- Right-click to display a pop-up menu.
- Choose Refresh. This operation reinitializes all connections defined for the selected provider.
To delete a connection
- Choose View > Data Explorer.
- Select a connection.
- Right-click to display a pop-up menu.
- Choose Delete Connection. This displays a confirmation message that asks if you want to delete the connection.
- Click OK.
To modify a connection
- Choose View > Data Explorer.
- Select a connection.
- Right-click to display a pop-up menu.
- Choose Modify Connection. This displays the Connections Editor dialog.
- Make changes to the appropriate values in the editor.
- Click OK.
To close a connection
- Choose View > Data Explorer.
- Select a connection.
- Right-click to display a pop-up menu.
- Choose Close Connection. If the connection is open, this operation closes it.
Note: If the Close Connection command is disabled in the menu, the connection is not open.
To rename a connection
- Choose View > Data Explorer.
- Select a connection.
- Right-click to display a pop-up menu.
- Choose Rename Connection. This displays Rename Connection dialog.
- Enter a new name.
- Click OK. The Data Explorer displays the connection with its new name.
