Set up Backup License Server
Go Up to Dashboard Commands
You can create a backup license server to ensure that if AppWave becomes unavailable and your backup license server is available, your users will still be able to run licensed apps that they have downloaded to their AppWave Browser.
How to set up a backup license server:
- Install AppWave on the host that will be the backup license server.
- Note: Take note of the port number specified for AppWave during the installation. You will need to specify this number later in this procedure.
- From the Dashboard, click Set up backup license server.
- The AppWave Backup Setup pane appears.
- Click Set AppWave as backup license server.
- In the Master hostname field, enter the host name of the AppWave host. This is the system your backup license server will substitute for when AppWave is unavailable.
- Click Save and the Reconfigure Appwave page appears with this message: The changes will be activated after manually restarting AppWave. Do you want to continue? .
- Confirm reconfiguration by clicking Yes.
- You need to restart now the EmbarcaderoAppWave Service.
- On the Windows desktop, click Start > All Programs > Embarcadero AppWave X.X > Configure AppWave Service.
- On the General tab of the Embarcadero AppWave Properties dialog, click Stop and then click Start.
- In your Browser, reconnect to the AppWave Backup Server by clicking Home in the menu bar . You can see now The AppWave Backup Dashboard.
- Connect to the master AppWave by clicking the link next to Master host address.
- Log in to the master host, by clicking Admin and then entering your credentials.
- From the System Management menu, click Backup License Server. The AppWave Back Setup pane appears.
- Click Configure the backup license server'. The Backup License Server pane appears.
- On the Backup License Server pane, enter the Host name of the license server previously created and ensure the Port number specified is the same port number specified during the AppWave install.
